The Doctors counter logic: the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don’t alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that need altering?
Xoanan the computer was located in room 37. I noticed the number A37 on the MRI machine display (Could be a stretch but I don’t believe that all these are coincidences)
As the Doctor is enroute to room 37 we get a shot inside the room and see the computer monitoring him and Leela. The computer then says the following in both the Doctors and a woman’s voice (sometimes speaking simultaneously):
“We are return. We are here, we are here. We are return. We, we. Now we shall be one. We are here. We are return. We are here. We are return. Now we shall be one. Now we must destroy us. We, we. Now we shall be one. We are return. We are here. Now we must destroy us to become one one one one.”
Right now it seems that there are 2 people who can see across space and time. Desmond and Eloise. I believe that she may be part of the duality of Jacob and the MIB. I will go out on a limb to say that when Flocke spoke of having a crazy mother he may have been speaking of Eloise. Both Jacob and the MIB are the children of something gone wrong with a computer type device or entity that Desmond and Eloise may have been part of like in the Doctor Who – The Face of Evil.
Simplified version: The Doctor goes to the planet early in his 4th regeneration. He tried to assist with a computer by interfacing it with his brain. Being not completely regenerated he forgets to wipe his imprint from the computer. He leaves the planet and while not completely regenerated he forgets the entire encounter. He returns years later and finds that the computer Xoanan was not a computer but a sentient life form. It developed its own personality and that was fused with the Doctors imprint. It became schizophrenic and develops a good side (Jacob) and a bad side (Smokey). It then goes on to use the members of the survey team in a eugenics war. One side technological (DHARMA) the other side savages (the others). The Doctor in the end manages to remove his imprint from the computer and it is regains its sanity. The entity personality is now that of a man so I don’t know how that will figure in with Eloise and Desmond as far as who is real and who was the sentient computer being.
You have to admit even if you are a skeptic that the similarities to the shows are uncanny. I had almost forgotten about Charlie’s band. The song “You are everybody” could that be a reference to the fact that one or all of the flashes (flashbacks, flash forwards or flash sideways) aren’t real and just a product of the computer/sentient life forms imagination or it’s creation. In the end of Doctor Who the Face of Evil, Xoanan was able to create matter with its thoughts. It also created a button and gave both the technological and savage groups the opportunity to destroy it if anyone just pushed the button. Neither side did and the button disappeared into thin air. The Doctor left along with Leela leaving Xoanan to act as an advisor to correct what he had made wrong.
Eloise: I want you to stop
Desmond: Stop, stop what
Eloise: Someone has clearly affected the way you see things. This is a serious problem. It is in fact a violation. So whatever you’re doing. Whatever it is you think you’re looking for. You need to stop looking for it.
Could this be the two consciousnesses arguing with each other?
In Doctor Who since the computer could just create matter out of thin air could some or all of the flashes just be the computer /sentient entity trying to give those what they want?
Desmond to Charlie: Charles Widmore one of the most “POWERFUL” men in this town will owe you a favor.
Drive Shaft Song “You All, Everybody”: You all everybody. Acting like “STUPID” people wearing expensive clothes.
The Doctors counter logic: the very POWERFUL and the very STUPID have one thing in common. They don’t alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that need altering?
Is this simply Widmore trying to alter the facts to fit his views. Is he who Eloise is talking about when she says “Someone has clearly affected the way you see things. “
Also note that everybody who was shown in the flash sideways is trying to alter the facts to fit their views also (i.e. Jack and his appendix, Locke now getting marries, Sayid with Nadia, Claire and her baby etc., etc., etc.)
Note: My quote about the Doctor’s counter logic was posted before this episode even aired.
Now is it a stretch with the line of work that Keamy is in that he could have had a near death experience that gave him flashes of the island. So the utterance could have been: ”Just in case you figure out what’s about to happen to “THE ISLAND.” I can’t have you freaking out.”
- To me this now makes perfect sense.
Just something to think about as this is my imagination having fun:
Sevateem turned out to be Survey Team 6 (In Story)
Tesh turned out to be the Technicians (In Story)
DHARMA (Department of Heuristics And Research on Material Applications) could turn out to be (Desmond Hume Are Really My Ancestors) – the result of a deranged computer / entity. (Could it be?)
Xoanon’s circuits explode, knocking the Doctor out. Could this be the power being turned off on Widmore’s machine and Desmond now realizes what it is he must do and is willing to do it. I don’t think it lines up with Widmore’s plans at all. Which reality(s) will he sacrifice?
To me this is simply the I'll do anything to accommodate the candidates universe. Give them exactly what they want. Think about it Sayid wants to be with Nadia. It hasn't happened yet but everything is falling into place. Jack wants to be someone who wasn't like his father so now he has a son. Things aren't great but he is given the opportunity to be a part of his life and change it. Hurley wants to help people and not have the money be a thorn in his side. He gets that opportunity wherever he turns. Desmond wanted to be important in C. Widmore's eyes and now he has it.
The problem comes in it appears to be just too good to be true. They are being kept from the truth. Unfortunately truth may come at the price of death. To me it goes back to the quote:
“The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don’t alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that need altering?”
Everyone around these key people is altering the facts to create the view of contentment. If we can keep them content we can control them. Don't let them wake up. At first I thought that maybe this reality was the end of the story but now I'm not so sure. According to Eloise this was a serious problem, in fact it was a violation. A violation against what. Are they in a totally fabricated world? I say Desmond is the “FACT” that needs altering. The question is who is the one doing the altering? I guess only time will tell.
I know some may disregard this due to this being my "It's based on Doctor Who Theory:"
I know you guys don't like it but I'm sticking with my theory until I'm proven wrong. I have simple seen to much to put to simply bury my head in the sand. The question is going to boil down to "Who am I?" Desmond's awakening is starting to contradict "What is real?" And that is the treat. The only question is who is feeling threatened?
I haven't seen anything to make me doubt that it won't end in a similar fashion. Every week the evidence keeps piling up in my opinion.
For those of you who still can't see - Xoanan's logic is exactly what the MIB sought in order to get off the island. If you read my blog entitled: How I believe Lost will end based upon The Key to Time Part 2 you would see that it even shows how they came up with the idea for the Smoke Monsters creation.
