In life Charlie’s tattoo read “Living is easy with eyes closed.” In the afterlife it read “Living is easy with eyes close misunderstanding all you see.” I am not a John Lennon fan nor do I take credit for the idea that is presented below. I wonder if this individual was a Lost fan. If so then they could have possibly made the connection that what we were actually seeing was not an alternate reality but the afterlife.
Strawberry Fields was a pyschological escape for Lennon the adult, that's why he chose it - subconsciously or consciously - as a metaphor for the song . The verses deal with adult concepts of identitiy, mortality and the individuals seeking of reconciliation with life itself. In the sense that as you get older and your personality becomes more defined it becomes more difficult to resolve the large conflicts that arise from the difference between the "way that you see things" and the way that things are. "It doesn't matter much to me" - this is not a personal statement on Lennon's part but rather a detached "godview". The "me" that he refers to is the bigger cycle, the over-arching energy that informs life; me in this sense is god/ the lifeforce. The reason it doesn't matter is because what matters is that you - the individual (the listener) -make the larger connections and have realizations within your lifetime. It does'nt mean perfect resolution, just means that you grasp the overall transcendental quality of life. Lennon was a lighting rod in this sense. The resolution is always going "down", towards an idyllic Strawberry Fields. The verses are points of stress along this inevitablility. -"No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low. That is you know you can't tune in, but it's alright; that is I think it's not to bad." This passage is very self-referential. The "tree" is Lennon's conception of the world. He wants to think that he himself inhabits his own consciousness exclusively, in a atheistic sense. He is questioning the concept of "a god". He believes in the neutral attributes of a non-judgmental "god but he defers suddenly to the concept of "a god" or "no god" with the line "I mean it must be high of low". Lennon is not against the concept of "the big god" he just wants clarity, high or low... either or... black or white. He doubts his ability to "tune in" to the godhead but relieves himself of the responsibility with the declaration that although "yes" he believes in god he still, as a post -modern human being retains the right to not believe... " I think I know I mean a "Yes" but it's all wrong, that is I think I disagree."

I am now the Protector of the Light that is truth
It’s sometimes seems that I stand alone in my conviction that Lost was truly inspired by the Doctor Who series the Key to Time. My faith in this idea has gotten me banned from numerous forums but I refuse to let the light of truth go out. I will remain on guard for as long as I can do the job. I ask you the reader to examine my facts and truly ask yourself if all this could possibly be coincidence. Truth can never be extinguished as long as there is one person out there that truly believes.
I have never asked anyone to take me at my word, review the story for yourself. If you come to believe as I do then drink of the cup of knowledge and know that “YOU ARE NOW LIKE ME.”

Lost ended where Doctor Who: The Key To Time began
We find Jack in the church in the room with his fathers coffin and we pick up the conversation here:
Christian: How are you here?
Jack: I died too.
Christian: It’s OK. It’s OK. It’s OK son
Jack: [They embrace] I love you dad.
Christian: I love you too son.
Jack: Are you real?
Christian: I sure hope so. Yeah. I’m real, you’re real. Everything that’s ever happened to you is real. All those people in the church, they’re all real too.
Jack: They’re all… They’re all dead?
Christian: Everyone dies sometime kiddo. Some of them before you, some long after you.
Jack: But why are they all here now?
Christian: Well there is no “NOW” here.
Jack: Where are we dad?
Christian: This is the place that you all made together so that you could find one another. The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these people. That’s why all of you are here. Nobody does it alone Jack. You needed all of them and they needed you.
Jack: For what?
Christian: To remember. And to… let go.
Jack: Kate she said we were leaving.
Christian: Not leaving. No… moving on.
Jack: Where are we going?
Christian: Let’s go find out.
[Jack followed by Christian enter into the church where everyone is hugging and embracing]
Locke: We’ve been waitin’ for ya.
[They all sit down and Christian walks up to the double doors of the church and opens them and a blinding light fills the church]
[The scene switches to Jack looking at the plane with his friends leave the island. He closes his eyes]
[The scene fades to black]
The Doctor is talking to K-9 in the TARDIS about going on vacation when everything goes black.
[Organ music starts playing – it sounds like church music]
[The Double doors of the TARDIS open and a blinding light rushes in]
Male Voice: Doctor!
Doctor: Yes.
Male Voice: Your presence is required.
Doctor: Listen. I don’t wish to appear rude, but… Who are you?
Male Voice: Do you really need to ask, Doctor?
Doctor: Well only a Guardian… Oh I see. Well in that case, sir.
Male Voice: You will come to no harm.
Doctor: Just as you say.
[The Doctor steps into the light and receives the information from the White Guardian that he needs to begin the quest for the Key to Time]
To me our Losties are now off on the greatest adventure possible. And every time the Doctor enters a new world he encounters a great adventure. Lost took a lot of imagery and character development from the Key to Time but the story was truly theirs and for that I thank them for an adventure that I will never forget! THANK YOU!!!

Where the idea for pulling the plug from the pond came from
When Desmond pulls the plug on the pond that contains the light the water drains, the waterfall stops running and chamber turns red. Then the earthquakes begin. I think the idea came directly from:
Excerpt fromThe Judgement of Isskar:
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf117.htm
The Martian arrives at the top of the Pyramid and prepares to shoot. The Doctor points out that removing the segment will be like pulling a plug and they’re standing right over the hole.
For 12,000 years, life on Mars prospered peacefully. It was a world of builders, craftsmen and farmers - until the day the ground and sky betrayed them. When the plug was pulled from the gravity well it sent earthquakes and hurricanes across the planet surface for three decades. Almost everything was lost.
If you read my post: How I believe Lost will end based upon The Key to Time Part 2 you will see how they got the idea for the light being on, intensifies and then eventually goes out.
These events like all the others that I have posted mirror each other and occur to often to even be considered coincidence. I also think that they were paying homage to the planet Mars on which this story takes place by turning the chamber where the pond was red. I whole heartedly believe that the pond was the Chaos Pool from the last audio book of the Key to Time series.
The part in the story where Hurley and Ben pull Desmond back up after the light comes back on I think is a direct result from what happened in the Chaos Pool story. I have always thought of Desmond as the Doctor Who of the story.
The Chaos Pool:
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf119.htm
Zara is angry that the Grace refuse to address her by her name, so she hands the Key to the Doctor, then he turns and jumps straight into the Chaos Pool. There’s a flash and everyone peers over the edge to see that the Pool has turned into a dark chasm full of jagged rocks. Moments later, the Doctor calls up to his friends and asks for their help getting him out.

Letting Go
I refer to Jack and Desmond saying that Locke has to “let go” in order to move on. What I believe this means is that once Locke actually realizes who he actually is in the Flash Sideways and combined with the fact that he has in every reality believed that everything happens for a reason will emerge as himself back on the island. And where will this happen? I believe it will occur in Smokey/Flocke. We have already seen Locke breaking through in Flocke at times. His signature saying “Don’t tell me what I can’t do!” Remember when Flocke was chasing Jacob as a boy through the jungle and Flocke fell down and Jacob told him to remember the rules and Flocke came back with “Don’t tell me what I can’t do!” This to me was Locke’s personality leaking through.
So if Locke personality can spill over into Smokey/Flocke then I think the same thing can happen in reverse. I believe that Smokey’s/Flocke’s exit point is into the Flash Sideways is through none other than Locke himself. The question is who will cross over first?
Now what is the significance of the mirrors to Lost? I know what they mean in Doctor Who but I think they will have significance in Lost. Things in a mirror are the reverse image of what they actually are. With this being said on the island Smokey can take over the form of things that are already dead. I think it is the mirror opposite for the Flash Sideways. He can actually inhabit the body of a prepared living being on the other side which would be Locke.
I also believe that Jack will have to make an important decision in the end. I believe that Locke will cross over first or they both could pass each other in the process. In Doctor Who the Doctor’s memory print was simply wiped from the schizophrenic computer Xoanan. Since island time seems to run faster than reality time I think Locke will have time to convince Jack that it is truly him that inhabits Smokey and Jack will believe that the MIB is truly gone and the quote “I wish you had believed me” will come to pass and the infinity loop will once and for all be broken and the game will finally come to an end.

Why is it cold and frozen by the Donkey Wheel
Simple, didn’t even think about this until now. The reason for this is that on the Key to Time: The Pirate Planet the Doctor and Romana go in search of the 2nd segment of the key to time. When the Doctor inserts the tracer into the TARDIS it comes back with the coordinates for the planet Calufrax. When they try and materialize the first time the TARDIS is nearly ripped apart for unknown reasons to the Doctor at the time. When they eventually materialize the following conversation takes place:
Romana: Shall we have a look at Calufrax now?
Doctor: Ah let’s get it over with. Horrible place. Cold, wet, icy. No life of any sort. Boring.
But when they look at the view screen they see that it is a nice weather outside. The Doctor is perplexed but realizes that the coordinates are indeed right and they set off to investigate. We fast forward to where the Doctor, Romana and Kimus have escaped from being prisoners of the Captain and are making their way to the mine shafts to take a look as the Doctor is curious about the mines. They enter a lift and proceed down. When they exit the lift they following conversation takes place:
Romana: Where are we Doctor?
Doctor: About 3 miles beneath the surface of Zanak I’d say.
Roman: 3 miles? But it’s so cold.
Doctor: Yes. And wet. And icy. Ah, Romana. This entire planet is hollow.
This is where the writers got the idea for the Donkey Wheel being beneath the Orchid station and why it is so very, very cold there. It also explains where they got the idea for the island moving when the wheel was turned. The entire planet of Zanak would move millions of light years from where it was and materialize around a slightly smaller planet and then it would mine it for everything that it had. The inhabitants of the planet were not aware of this other than the fact that the “lights in the sky would change” which the called the Omens because they were part of Zanak. This is where they got the idea of Richard and crew and others not jumping through time in my opinion because they were considered “part of the island.”

Things don’t look to end well for Sawyer
I don’t think that Sawyer will survive in the flash sideways. I say this because of what Juliette and Hurley said during the show. First remember what Juliette said to Sawyer when she was dying. I believe that when she was dying she was speaking about events that were to happen on the other side. They both meet up at the concert and they both get their memories back concerning the island. She said that “We should get coffee sometime. We can go dutch.”
Before I get to the rest of what she said lets move on to what Hurley said. He and Hurley were having a conversation about them double crossing the MIB and taking off with the boat. I’ll pick up the conversation here:
Hurley: What about Sayid?
Sawyer: Sayid ain’t invited. He’s gone over to the Dark Side.
Hurley: Yeah but you can always bring people back from the Dark Side. I mean, Anakin.
Sawyer: How the hell’s Anakin?
Now back to what Juliette wanted to tell Sawyer but she died and it was relayed through Miles. She concludes her conversation through Miles when she said “It worked.” Why would she have to tell him that if he survived? That seems like something you tell someone when they won’t be around to hear it later. When you combine that with the Anakin comment from Hurley it seems to spell out doom for Sawyer. Any Star Wars fan knows what happened to Anakin/Darth Vader at the end, HE DIED. Only to be around in spirit. Could that somehow translate into him being part of the island for eternity?
His counterpart on Doctor Who Unstoffe was shot in the shoulder while he was with Garron his partner in crime. I equate Unstoffe with Sawyer and Garron with Anthony Cooper. Unstoffe was shot after Binro tried to save him. Unstoffe then challenged the Graf Vanda-K and was shot. He survived however but it’s like what K-9 said:
K-9: Optimism. Belief that everything will work out well. Irrational, bordering on insane.
This is Lost and not Doctor Who so death comes with the territory. I go back to what Charlotte said about the island, “This place is death.” Everyone seems to be making amends for things they did on the island. What did Sawyer do on the island and what has he been trying to do in every reality that we see him in. Kill Anthony Cooper. He actually strangled Anthony Cooper on the island. So in the flash sideways will he give up his life for the man he has sought to kill almost his entire life? Like I said things don’t look so good for Sawyer. I only thought about this after I made the last Star Wars comment in my last post.

I don’t think Jack has been Jack since the beginning!!!
I went back to look at the pilot episode and I come the conclusion that Jack hasn’t been Jack since the plane crashed. When we first see him he is lying in the bamboo field and he opens his eyes. We next see Vincent and he is just watching Jack and then he just runs off. The next time we see Vincent he is hiding in the bushes just watching as Jack, Kate and Charlie hike through the jungle in search of the planes cockpit. He remains out of sight trying not to be seen. What could make a dog act in such a way? Does he know something that we don’t?
This just makes me think of Doctor Who because of two things that seem to be critical when it comes to Jack. First the mark that was on the Marshal’s neck located in the same spot as the blood spot on Jack’s neck was a control device. Second the person that made the decision at the Chaos Pool that was fed by the waterfall was the same person that was revealed not to be the person that they were pretending to be. Looking into the mirror in the Doctor Who story revealed who the person really was. Is Jack not who we think he is? Has Jacob handed over the reigns of the island to an imposter? From the very beginning I have believed that Locke truly believed in the island. When we found out about the candidates I believed that he should be the one to take over the job. So the only question that remains is who is pulling his strings? Is this the twist that will have us all talking on Monday? What secret agenda is being perpetrated by Jacob or Locke that will turn out to be key to the entire plot?
Also I watched episode three and was reminded of another Doctor Who similarity. When the Key to Time series first started with the Ribos Operation we see the Doctor in his TARDIS and he is blowing a whistle. It turns out he had just made a whistle that he could us to call K-9 if he ever needed him wherever he was. He blows the whistle and K-9 responds with “master” and the Doctor utters the words “it works.” Well Locke made a dog whistle out of wood and is able to lure Vincent in so that Walt can be reunited with his dog.
I don’t think Vincent would have ever come in on his own had Locke not made the whistle. I don’t know why he acted the way he did but I believe that it has everything to do with Jack or whoever it is that is pretending to be Jack. Note: all of my assumptions come from the fact that I am basing all my theories on the Doctor Who: The Face of Evil and The Key to Time series. I think this is the reason that they are going to replay this episode. Where was Jack at during the time that Kate was running for her life and after he had freed Charlie when they were being chased by Smokey?

Why do the color of Jacks eyes seem to change so much?
I was watching the pilot episode again because they were going to replay it and I ran across something that I thought interesting. When Jack first awakens after the crash they zoom in on his face and his eyes. They seem to be greenish-brown. Then as we go along they seem to get darker. I noticed this because in the Chaos Pool story the person that made the decision to give the Doctor the Key of Time in the end and thus saving everything was Zara. She was the person who was impersonating Amy the Doctor’s companion. When the Doctor held a mirror up for her to look into she was revealed to be changing back into her own self.
Excerpt from The Chaos Pool:
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf119.htm
The Doctor reveals to his companion that he knows she’s an impostor and he holds up a mirror that shows her appearance has started to change back into that of Zara. He says he realised the truth some time ago, but he didn’t say anything in the hope that she might lead him to the real Amy.
The Doctor asks Amy if she trusts him and when she says she does, he tells her to let go of the Key. Then he tells Zara she has the choice of either surrendering the Key to the Grace or giving it to him. The Grace threaten to crush the Doctor, but he knows that they’ve manifested themselves inside the Key and they can’t leave it until everyone has let go. Zara asks Amy what she should do, but Amy insists that she makes the choice herself.
The Doctor admits that he had no idea there was a ledge just beneath the surface of the Pool. All he knew was that it would disintegrate the Key and disperse the Grace throughout eternity. Everyone who was trapped in the castle segment will be returned home, including Pargrave. He hands the Time Ring back to Zara and invites her to join the man she loves back on Atrios. She’s surprised that he’s willing to let her go after everything she’s done, but he reminds her she was also brave and compassionate. He tells her nobody is perfect and that’s what separates real people like her from artificial lifeforms. The Doctor took a risk giving her the choice, but if he’d compelled her then he’d have been no better than the Grace. He risked everything on his faith that Zara was really a good person. Zara begins to cry. She invites Amy to come with her, but Amy says she has other plans. Zara thanks the Doctor and says goodbye to everyone, then she operates the Time Ring and heads for Atrios.
So with this every time that I saw Jack staring into a mirror since he was the character that did it the most I thought of him as the Zara Character. But I just can’t put my finger on it, his eyes never seem to look the same color especially when for example why are his eyes so light green when he wakes up in the bamboo field in the pilot and when they get back to the island and he ends up in the bamboo field again. When he looks in mirrors his eyes seem way darker. I don’t think this is just my imagination. They say the eyes are the window to the soul. I guess we will see.

How I believe Lost will end based upon The Key to Time Part 2
After watching the “What They Died For” episode I watched the Face of Evil again as again I was seeing several similarities. It appears that they may just end the show with the combination of The Face of Evil and the Chaos Pool.
What struck at me immediately is when the Doctor had escaped with Leela and the Tesh were sent to find them. As the Doctor made is way to level 37 Xoanan monitors see this and say “Us within us, we shall make two one.” The leader of the Tesh says the following:
Jabel: Gentek is the guard posted outside the sacred heart?
I believe this to be key as all left remaining on Lost are heading towards what has been referred to as the heart of the island.
Leela renders the guard unconscious and the following conversation takes place:
Doctor: Keep watch.
Leela: Can’t I come with you.
Doctor: Xoanan’s unstable. He might kill me. He’d certainly kill you. Anyway we need someone on guard.
Leela: Doctor be careful.
The Doctor enters the room and Xoanan repeats several times: “Who are you?” A light then comes from somewhere above the Doctor which is a scan by Xoanan and the following is said:
[Will this signify the light that is the island?]
Doctor: I ‘m the Doctor. I’ve come to correct a mistake I made when I was here before.
Xoanan: We have made no mistake.
Doctor: I made the mistake. I made the mistake.
The light that is shining on the Doctor intensifies.
[I believe that Lost just adapted the mistake and assigned it to Jacob instead of the Doctor character who I believe to be Desmond.]
Doctor: For generations teams of technicians had worked on the computer trying to extend its power. Without realizing it they had created life. The computer hadn’t failed at all. It had evolved into a living creature. The first of an entirely new species. When I arrived it had just been born. It was in shock. I didn’t recognize the birth trauma and that was my mistake. When I connected my own brain to it, it just didn’t take compatible information as a machine should have done, it took everything. When it woke it had a complete personality, mine. It thought I was itself. Then it began to develop another separate self. Its own self and that’s when it started to go mad.
[I believe that this is how the writers of Lost came up with the Smoke Monster character. The MIB’s merging with the Light at the bottom of the waterfall creating a character that had multiple personalities.]
[I also believe that these final scenes that start with the Doctor entering the room will take place at the bottom of the waterfall where the light emanates from.]
Xoanan asks where is this machine and the Doctor responds with “Its here Xoanan, it’s you.
The light scanning the Doctor goes out. Xoanan couldn’t accept that its personality was the same as the Doctor’s and started attacking his mind. When Xoanan is confronted by the Doctor he doesn’t accept the truth of what the Doctor says (the scene switches to outside of the room): Leela asks one of the Tesh what’s happening and he responds with:
[Will the light truly go out on the island? I believe that it may but I also believe that it will be rekindled.]
Tesh: The failsafe (all the corridor lights turn red)
Leela: What does it mean?
Tesh: The end of the world.
Leela: Why, why?
Tesh: It means death and destruction. It happened before the time of land.
The scene goes back to inside the room and Xoanan constantly repeats “Who am I?”
Go forward to near the end when Xoanan has activated an atomic bomb as he doesn’t want to accept the truth of what the Doctor has told him. The Doctor tells Leela that he’s got about 24.5 minutes to build a Reverse Memory Transfer System and wipe his personality print from Xoanan’s brain. Xoanan gains control of the minds of both the Tesh and the Sevateem members to stop the Doctor. The grab the Doctor and are about to kill him when Neeva (the Richard character of Lost) grabs one of the disrupters and shoots a computer terminal. Everyone releases the Doctor and he is able to active the device.
[Does this mean that the MIB’s personality will be removed from Smokey?]
The Doctor awakes after two days and Leela tells him that there hasn’t been a peep out of Xoanan since he was unconscious. She also tells him that Jabel’s people don’t dare go near the sacred heart.
Xoanan is now free of the Doctor’s personality. Both Xoanan and his dark side are gone. What remains is a totally rational entity. The entity that keeps the name Xoanan tells the Doctor that they are all free thanks to him.
In the end Xoanan offers both sides a choice. The Doctor goes to both sides and says the following:
Doctor: Gentlemen, gentlemen. Democracy at work I see. [Both sides were arguing]
He said he’s extremely sorry about all the trouble he’s caused and he has great power and knowledge and he puts it all at your disposal. He offers you this as a token of his good faith. [The doctor pulls out a device with a red button on it] Press it and he ceases to exist.
No one presses the button and the Doctor exists the scene and heads back to his TARDIS. Leela accompanies him and becomes his next companion.
[I don’t know about another choice being made but I wonder about the part about pressing the button. Is this where they got the idea that if Smokey got free that everything would cease to exist?]
[I believe that Desmond will play a key part in setting everything right]
Note: I’m not saying that Doctor Who is completely original in its concept far from it. What I am saying is that the core of Lost comes from these10 episodes of Doctor Who. They are The Face of Evil, The 6 part Key to Time episode: The Ribos Operation, The Pirate Planet, The Stones of Blood, The Androids of Tara, The Power of Kroll, The Armageddon Factor followed by the 3 audio books: The Judgement of Isskar, The Destroyer of Delights and The Chaos Pool.

How I believe Lost will end based upon The Key to Time
Since the show seems to be skipping back and forth between the Pirate Planet episode and the Chaos Pool I came to the following conclusion. Smokey is being portrayed as the Captain and as you can see how they both yearn for freedom.
Captain: This planet? This vile lumbering planet? Devil storms, Mr. Fibuli! You are a callow fool! Do you not see how my heart burns for the dangerous liberty of the skies? Plunder, battle and escape! My soul is imprisoned, bound to this ugly lump of blighted rock, beset by zombie Mentiads and interfering Doctors!
Mr. Fibuli: But what can they do to you Captain?
Captain: Enough! They shall die! By the flaming moons of hell, they shall die!
Whereas the Captain is bound to what he calls “This vile lumbering planet.” The MIB is bound to the island and has always yearned for freedom. The Captain also says his soul is imprisoned much the same way that the MIB’s soul or essences is trapped within the Smoke Monster. I also assume that the voice that we heard in “Jacob’s cabin” saying “help me” was the MIB because he was trapped or imprisoned.
I now fast forward to a scene to where the Doctor is in chains tied to a pillar by the Captain. The following conversation takes place after the Doctor riles the Captain up:
Captain: Silence!
Doctor: You’re just trying to shut me up. You can’t kill me while I’m helpless.
Captain: Can’t I?
Doctor: No, you can’t. Because you’re a warrior and it’s against the warriors code. You should have thought of that before you tied me up.
Captain: By the hounds of hell.
Doctor: Hard to listen Captain when someone’s got a finger on a nerve, eh? What is it that you’re really up to? What do you want? You don’t want to take over the universe do you? No. You wouldn’t know what to do with it beyond shout at it.
[The Captain goes on to tell Mr. Fibuli to release the Doctor and he goes on to show/tell him part of his plan but not all]
I see this as summing up what the Smoke Monster is. Again I look back to Richard when he was chained up in the bottom of the ship. Smokey didn’t kill him almost the same way the Doctor summed up the Captain not killing him. When it came to others (i.e. Mr. Eko) however who were armed or a threat or not worthy as it were he was able to kill them. It was almost like a warrior’s code. When Richard was released the MIB went on to tell him part of what he thought he needed for him to hear in order to carry out his plan of killing Jacob but not the whole thing. The Captain then goes on and tells the Doctor the following:
Doctor: What are they for? [Referring to the mummified remains of the planets that he had plundered] Tombstones, memorials to the worlds you destroyed?
Captain: Not memorials, these are the remains of the worlds themselves.
Doctor: You come her to gloat at the wanton destruction you’ve wreaked on the universe.
Captain: [He whispers] I come here to dream of freedom.
I believe that this is where they got the idea for the MIB seeking freedom. The Captain himself yearns to be free. He has put together a plan to use the energy from the planets that he has gathered together to get inside the time dams that are keeping Queen Xanxia alive and thus kill her once and for all.
Fast Forward to the part near the end when Queen Xanxia shows her hand. The Doctor at this point has already figured out that the Captain was under the Queen’s thumb. She wanted eternal life and would do anything to get it. The Doctor and Roman stop their plans from making the Earth their next target and the Captain says the following when he finds Mr. Fibuli dead after the explosion on the bridge:
Captain: Mr. Fibuli… dead. Dead… He was a good man. Somehow, somehow Mr. Fibuli, my friend… you shall be avenged.
Queen Xanxia is killed shortly after that by Kimus.
Is this a sign of maybe what is to come? Will Zoe (By the way her name means life, ironic this is what Queen Xanxia wanted and that I think and have said in earlier posts that she is the Queen Xanxia of Lost) show her hand being a geophysicist may have figured out what the light is and is in search of it for herself. Will she be killed shortly after revealing what she is after much like Queen Xanxia? Then we come to the Captain kneeling over Mr. Fibuli. Could the “He was a good man” quote be a reference to Jacob? Will Jacob be killed and the MIB kneel over his body in much the same way. Remember the part where Jacob asked his mother “Am I good, mother.” Also I like that the Captain said “my friend” as that is one of the MIB’s signature sayings.
I then think the show will move on to the waterfall aka the “Chaos Pool” where the show will end with someone making a decision that will break the loop. I believe this to be Jack, because the one that made the decision at the Chaos Pool was the one who was shown to be someone else when they looked in the mirror. Which of our losties have been infatuated with mirrors the most? That would be Jack. But I do believe that Desmond will help guide him to the decision that he is going to have to make, the same way the Doctor did. I think that the decision made will end up sinking the island. Whether Jack eventually turns over the role of protector to Smokey/MIB/Locke and then he/it/they decide to sacrifice their existence in order to gain the only freedom that he/it/they can have… DEATH.
This is much the same logic that Xoanan the computer had: (Xoanan’s logic was destroy, be free). I once thought that we were going to come down to multiple personalities between the MIB and Jacob. Now I see that the multiple personality is going to be with Smokey/MIB/Locke and whoever else exists within the entity. Because of all the personalities “the protector of the island”, which I believe Smokey to be, is going to be shown to be somewhat insane like Xoanan the computer was. I do believe that you will get to see that when it is all said and done that the last words that are uttered by the he/it/they entity will be either free or freedom and quite possibly thank you. Everything from that point on in Doctor Who turned out fine as the universe was again set in balance. The Doctor ended up taking the key itself and jumping into the Chaos Pool and it turned it off as it were. Could Desmond the one who we know can survive the electromagnetic energy do something very similar?
Captain: This planet? This vile lumbering planet? Devil storms, Mr. Fibuli! You are a callow fool! Do you not see how my heart burns for the dangerous liberty of the skies? I know what the Island is
First here is what we are told.
MIB: What’s down there?
Mother: Light, the warmest, brightest light you’ve ever seen or felt. And we must make sure that on one ever finds it.
MIB: It’s beautiful.
Mother: Yes it is and that’s why they want it. Because a little bit of this very same light is inside every man. But they always want more.
Later as an adult the following is said.
Jacob: What’s down there?
Mother: Life. Death. Rebirth. It’s the source, the heart of the island.
In the Key to Time: The Pirate Planet the Doctor described the Mentiads as a telepathic gestalt. He described it as “many minds combined to form a single entity.” What you have to know before I go on is that Zanak the planet that they are on is hollow. It is being used by the Captain by engulfing smaller planets throughout the universe and mining them for their mineral wealth. This is what we are told at the beginning. We find out later that Queen Xanxia is using the energy of the crushed planets to keep her alive as she is in search of eternal life. Doesn’t Queen Xanxia exemplify the line “But they always want more?” Here is the conversation that clues you in to how the writers came up with the mystery that is the island.
Mentiad: For some of us, terrible agonies of the mind began.
Doctor: Yes, they would for someone who’s telepathic.
Mentiad: Why Doctor do you know?
Doctor: Yes… yes, I do! You were absorbing the life force from the plundered planets.
Mentiad: What is the life force?
Doctor: Well it quite difficult to explain in simple terms but basically… Romana?
Romana: Every atom of matter in the universe has a certain energy locked inside it. Now with something the size of a planet there’s an enormous quantity.
Doctor: Oh enormous.
Romana: So every time Zanak crushes a planet it releases all that energy. Now some of it will be on psychic wavelengths.
Doctor: Right.
Romana: So every time it happens there’s a fantastic blast of psychic energy, enough to smash open the neural pathways of anyone telepathic, like you Mentiads.
Doctor: Right you Mentiads were absorbing all that power into your brains.
Mentiads: Yes and each planet as it dies adds to that power, the power by which it will be avenged.
So in Lost they keep referring to the island and the earth. On Doctor Who everything is concerning the universe. Let’s just get to the point. Life, death and rebirth. That is exactly the process that is going on in the Pirate Planet episode. The Captain chooses his prey a planet that is full of LIFE. He materializes around the slightly smaller planet and squeezes the life from it resulting in DEATH of the planet. The Mentiads reclaim the energy on psychic wavelengths which is a REBIRTH of sorts. The exact thing happened to the MIB. He was alive, he had LIFE. He and Jacob got into an argument and Jacob pushed him into the creek hitting his head. He either died right there or after he went over the waterfall. He was dead and we have DEATH. A process took place at the bottom of the waterfall and he reemerged as the Smoke Monster (REBIRTH). We know that Smokey took the form of the MIB but we also know that it wasn’t him as Jacob buried him in the cave with their mother.
The island is like the planets that Romana explained having enormous amounts of the energy locked inside it. When people die or their bodies exists on the island dead it seems that the entity that is the Smoke Monster uses their essence just like the Mentiads are able to use the energy of the planet that they are in close proximity too. What if when someone dies on the island or their body is brought to the island their essence is combined with that of the island energy forming a Gestalt.
My friend Gabe and I were discussing this and we came up with this idea. Since the MIB or Smokey or whatever you want to call him took on the form of Locke because he wants to be the replacement. Maybe that’s why he needs to get rid of all the other candidates first.
Excerpts from the Chaos Pool:
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf119.htm
The White Guardian summons Astra and orders her to bring him the Key, but she refuses. The Black Guardian orders the unnamed woman to do the same, but she announces that her name is Freedom and she is free of his control at last. The Doctor realizes that because the two Guardians are evenly matched, they both need the help of someone else in order to give them the edge.
The Doctor congratulates the Grace on their impressive display of power. They reveal that they made Freedom to be their servant throughout eternity, but she no longer wishes that, so they offer the only freedom left to her. In a flash, she too disappears with a scream.
Even if someone else were to become the candidate remember what the mother said to Jacob when he was forced to take to position.
Mother: It has to be you Jacob.
Jacob: No it doesn’t. You wanted it to be him. But now I’m all you have.
Mother: It was always supposed to be you Jacob. I see that now, and one day you will see it too but until then you really don’t have a choice.
What if Locke was always supposed to be the replacement? Since the MIB has the essence of Locke he could become Jacob’s replacement.
He was angry with her because he knew that she didn’t want him to be her replacement as she preferred it be the MIB. She told him in the end that it was always supposed to be you I know that now. Things on this show always come full circle.
Since in my opinion Lost is following Doctor Who so much what if they give the MIB the following out? He becomes the replacement. Freedom the unnamed woman announces that she is free of the black guardians control at last. It appears the Smokey entity seems that it was made to be a servant of the island also for eternity. What if he chooses to then give up that responsibility and that is what causes the island to sink. Remember how his mother seemed to be relieved when the responsibility was no longer hers. Game, Show over.
This may be the best you get about what the island is. I really don’t think the writers will really clue us in on this one. But at least you know where they got their idea for it from.
MIB: What’s down there?
Mother: Light, the warmest, brightest light you’ve ever seen or felt. And we must make sure that on one ever finds it.
MIB: It’s beautiful.

I believe I now know the MIB’s name
First a little bit about last’s night episode “Across The Sea.” First of all the reflection that Claudia saw in the water as she was drinking didn’t quite seem right. Is she also some sort of smoke monster only white? I watched it a few times and I don’t know. When she and the MIB were sitting on the beach and he asked her “What’s dead?” She then responds with “Something you’ll never have to worry about.” Is this her way of preparing him for what is to come? She also tells the MIB that he is “special.”
She told both of the boys as they were blindfolded and taking them to the light or island energy two things that are key to the story of Lost. One she said “They come, fight, they destroy, they corrupt and it always ends the same.” This is the quote that has both boys at odds as they grew older. Jacob who is trying to prove this wrong and the MIB, who even though he infers this woman who raised them both insane, believes it to be the truth. With this she shaped everything that has come to be to the present time. Two she told them “I’ve made it so that you can never hurt each other.” Did this occur when she had brought Claudia back to her cave and gave her the drink? Was this the preparation to ready the baby to be able to take her place? When two children were born did the elixir prevent them from harming one another?
Is the light or energy force hidden within the island as the island is hidden from the world? To get to the island you have to know where it is or be brought there. She intentionally blind folded them both so that they would know how to get to it on their own. This is made clear after the MIB is in the well and he tells her he has searched for 30 years to find the light that is emanating from what appears to be a waterfall. We didn’t see it yet but it was described as such when she told them both “Just promise that no matter what you do you won’t ever go down there.” Jacob was told after he asked “Would I do” and she responded with “You’d be worse than dying Jacob, much worse.” Does this maybe hint at the fact that she herself has made the journey “down there” herself? We find out that the light is Life, Death and Rebirth. It’s the source, the heart of the island.
The MIB lay unconscious in the well. When he awakes he has been carried out and the well filled back in. The village where he stayed was being burned to the ground and all the people were dead. How could she do this on her own if she wasn’t something other than human? This is another reason I believe the reflection in the water to be that of a white smoke monster. We also find out that the bottle of wine with the cork combined with what looks like ritual prayer turned Jacob into what he is. She tells him “It’ll make you like me.” Did it seem to anyone else that their mother seemed grateful to be rid of the burden of guarding the island when she was stabbed by the MIB? Is this not the same calm that Jacob showed when Ben did the same thing? Again does this not look like the infinity loop coming full circle yet again only to maybe start all over again? Who will break the loop?
Ok to the topic at hand what I believe the MIB’s name to be. I believe that his name is key to the story in some way. I got the meanings of Jacobs name from the following website: http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Jacob. Jacob is pronounced JAY-kub. It is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is “he who supplants.” Supplant means to replace or step into the shoes of. Jack is also the French form of Jacob. So with that I believe the MIB’s name to be Fremont. It sounds odd but I believe it to be true. I got the meaning of Fremont from the same website: http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Fremont. Freemont is pronounced FREE-mont. It is of French and Old German origin and its meaning is “noble protector; protector of freedom.”
The reason I believe this to be true is because like I said before I know that the writers of Lost are taking great liberties with the Key to Time series. There happens to be a woman in “The Chaos Pool” who is referred to as both nameless and unnamed. Since characters in Doctor Who haven’t stayed the same sex between the two stories (i.e. Richard and Vivian Fay – both who don’t age and came to be where they are via prison ships). I am guessing that this is their attempt to assign yet another attribute to the MIB that was taken from Doctor Who: The Key to Time. Among others are the Megara – who are described as judge, jury and executioner – the Black Guardian – Djinn etc.
Excerpts from the Chaos Pool:
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf119.htm
The recently revived freedom fighters, including President Astra and Captain Pargrave, are ordered by the nameless woman to defend the Chaos Pool and hold back the intruders, but it’s not long before they find themselves being overrun by the Teuthoidians. Zara pleads with the two Guardians to help and reluctantly they both agree to stop their supporters. In an instant, everyone else in the ante-chamber apart from Zara and Astra are frozen in time again. Zara suggests converting the castle back into the segment, but the White Guardian warns her that would destroy the Universe unless the other five segments are retrieved first. When she uses her Time Ring to go after Amy, the Black Guardian accuses her of breaking the rules, so he decides to revive his freedom fighters. In retaliation, the White Guardian revives the Teuthoidians…and the battle resumes!
[Is this describing the duties of the protector of the light/energy? I know that Jacob is the protector but is Smokey the muscle used to carry it out?]
While their respective troops ransack the castle, the two Guardians are casually engaged in a game of bridge with their partners, Astra and the unnamed woman. The game is a perfect example of the differences between the two and they both taunt each other, claiming their approach is the better.
[Is this a reference to the fact that Jacob and the MIB are just engaged in a game?]
Astra questions the unnamed woman about her identity and suggests that she prove to her master, the Black Guardian, that she’s free to choose a name for herself. The two Guardians are continuing their card game, aware that they can wait forever if they need to. The woman accuses Astra of being responsible for her people’s demise when she surrendered the essence of the sixth segment to Romana. Although Astra has lived for two centuries, the average life expectancy for people on Atrios is just 29 years. She reveals that Astra is drawing the life directly from the people around her and points out that despite all her efforts, she hasn’t been able to save a single person.
[Is this a reference to the fact that the MIB never was given a name? Will he or did he choose one for himself?]
The White Guardian summons Astra and orders her to bring him the Key, but she refuses. The Black Guardian orders the unnamed woman to do the same, but she announces that her name is Freedom and she is free of his control at last. The Doctor congratulates the Grace on their impressive display of power. They reveal that they made Freedom to be their servant throughout eternity, but she no longer wishes that, so they offer the only freedom left to her. In a flash, she too disappears with a scream.
[Is this the reason why the guardian of the island was created? To be a servant to the island forever?]
Note: No matter what you think of my theory you have to be intrigued with all the similarities. The Chaos Pool story ended at the Chaos Pool itself which is described as being fed by a waterfall. The pool gives off a reflection but the water from the waterfall doesn’t cause any splashing as it hits the pool.

Two boys mentioned in the Judgement of Isskar
11 May 10 6:10 pm MST
In the Judgement of Isskar there are two unnamed boys mentioned in the story. They are the sons of Lady Mesca and her rival Wembik. We find out later that Wembik has poisoned Lady Mesca with snake venom and she is dying. They are going to war with each other over an entirely meaningless role and Wembik doesn’t even care if her son never becomes King – so long as Mesca’s son doesn’t either. The whole thing is meaningless because everything is plentiful in the village and they don’t really need a King any more. Their laws state that a King can only rule from the age of 23 and until then a provisional government keeps the peace. As the people don’t want to be ruled, they elect a child who agrees to stand down at the age of 22 in return for a generous pension. But Wembik yearns for power and the chance for her son to be King and the temptation is too strong to resist.
I don’t know if this will have anything to do with the story of Lost but I am putting it out there anyway.

Jack is Jacob’s Loophole
I just have the feeling that Jack has been changing due to an unknown force that he isn’t aware of and I believe that force to be the essence of Jacob. If you read my posts: Why is Jack always staring at mirrors?
http://lostanddoctorwhokeytotimesimilarities.blogspot.com/2010/05/why-is-jack-always-staring-at-mirrors.html
http://lostanddoctorwhokeytotimesimilarities.blogspot.com/2010/05/why-is-jack-always-staring-at-mirrors_15.html
I put together the groundwork for why I believe that Jacob may now be part of Jack deep down even though he doesn’t know it. Remember when Jacob and the MIB were talking and Jacob told him that if you kill me someone else will just take my place. I believe that someone to be Jack right now. In my post entitled: Who is the “They” when Jacob says “They’re coming?”
http://lostanddoctorwhokeytotimesimilarities.blogspot.com/2010/05/who-is-they-when-jacob-says-theyre.html
I mentioned in that post that I believed that Jacob did something horrific that caused all of this to happen in the first place. I believe that in the end however after Jacob is revealed to be hidden within Jack that Desmond who is special (i.e. the rules don’t apply to him) will play a key role in taking Jacob back to the “scene of the crime” where he will be able to undue the thing(s) that caused this in the first place. I believe this will break the infinity loop and set things right with everyone having the opportunity to truly make their own decisions, free of the island whether it turns out good or bad.
Jacob has been bringing people to the island for so long and has told Richard that when they get here their pasts don’t matter. I believe that he has been trying to prove a point to the MIB about people being able doing the right thing without having to be told to by him. We may just see that he made a decision that he wishes he could undue but his fate was sealed. He has spent all this time trying to give others what he himself has been truly seeking, FORGIVENESS.

I almost forgot about the fact that Flocke is showing signs of John Locke’s personality. Remember when he was running through the jungle chasing the blonde haired boy. The boy told him that he couldn’t kill him referring to Sawyer and that he knew the rules and then Flocke had an outburst. He screamed at the boy saying “Don’t tell me what I can’t do!” This is one of John Locke’s signature phrases. So the point being that it seems that all 4 characters are in there somewhere. Convergence looks like it will take place and all hell may just break loose.

Is Smokey a (Djinn – Jinn – Genie)
I just got on another train of thought concerning the MIB. First here is the definition.
In Arabic, a genie (also jinni, djinni, from Arabic جني jinnī) is a supernatural creature which occupies a parallel world to that of mankind, and together with humans and angels makes up the three sentient creations of God (Allah). According to the Qur’ān, there are two creations that have free will: humans and jinn. We do not know many details about them; however, the Qur’an mentions that jinn are made of smokeless flame, and they form communities just like humans, and, just like humans, they can be good or evil.
In Islam-associated mythology, the jinn were said to be controllable by magically binding them to objects, as Sulayman ("Solomon" in most biblical transliterations) famously did; the Spirit of the Lamp in the story of Aladdin was such a jinni, bound to an oil lamp.
Does this not fit Smokey? The smokeless flame definitely does. I can’t say 100% for sure if he is good or evil right now. The part about being controlled binding them to objects got me to thinking about the scene where Richard and Jacob were sitting on the beach and he had the bottle of wine. He put the cork in the bottle telling Richard that the evil (i.e. Smokey) in the bottle was being held in place by the cork (i.e. the island.) Does this not fit what most of us think of when we think of genies? The question is how did Jacob imprison or bind Smokey in the first place to the island? He said that he was a man but that Jacob took his body and his humanity. So to do that to a person what type of person do you have to be?
I also started thinking about this in terms of the Flash Sideways. The MIB promised Sayid that he could be reunited with Nadia again if he followed him. Sayid didn’t specify that he wanted her to be his wife. In the flash sideways Nadia is alive but she is married to his brother. This to me is what I think of when I think of a genie. If you don’t give the specifics of your wish it never turns out the way you want it to.
OK so how does this relate to my Lost is based upon Doctor Who theory? Well guess what a Djinn is mentioned numerous times (24 to be exact) in the audio book The Destroyer of Delights. And guess what he’s stuck on earth because the warp manifold on his ship is damaged and he is using massive amounts of gold to try to repair the damage before he can escape.
Excerpt from the Destroyer of Delights:
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf118.htm
She recounts the story of a man from the tribe of Udra who disappeared one day and when he returned, said he’d been carried off by the Djinn - creatures of subtle fire whose trails are seen in the night skies - and taken to distant worlds, but nobody believed his stories.
Inside the spaceship buried beneath the sand, Cassim decides they’ve already given Omar and Amy enough time to reach the Legate and suggests the Djinni set off his weapon. The equipment starts powering up, then the Djinni operates the targeting device and locks it into position. Seconds later, the Black Guardian gives the order to fire…
The Black Guardian is keen to know whether the attack was a success, but the Djinni explains that because his ship has been stuck in the sand for decades, there’s been some damage to the weapons’ sights. The Guardian is furious and orders the alien to fire again…
The Djinni takes some readings and announces that they now have the correct mass. The Black Guardian is delighted and tells his ally to begin compressing the gold.
The Djinni suggests they install it immediately and prepare to leave this world.
Guys I couldn’t make this stuff up. How much proof do you actually need?
10 May 10 4:57 pm MST
I was thinking along the same lines of the Jinn and thought how cool it would be if Lost decided the use the The Majlis al-Jinn cave in Oman, literally 'Meeting place of the jinn'. This could also via CGI be the setting for the waterfall that Desmond and Jack may descend into.

I was thinking along the same lines of the Jinn and thought how cool it would be if Lost decided the use the The Majlis al-Jinn cave in Oman, literally 'Meeting place of the jinn'. This could also via CGI be the setting for the waterfall that Desmond and Jack may descend into.
Even the smallest of details
I was just thinking about a small part in Lost when Locke, Ben and Sun were going through the jungle heading for the temple. Locke was leading the bunch and the following conversation takes place:
Ben: May I ask you a question John?
Locke: Shoot.
Ben: How is it that you know where you’re going?
Locke: I just know.
Ben: I mean how does that work exactly?
Locke: How does what work?
Ben: The knowing. I mean did it come upon you gradually or did you wake up one morning and suddenly understand the mysteries of the universe?
Well guess what a similar situation took place in the Chaos Pool. Judge for yourself.
Excerpt from the Chaos Pool:
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf119.htm
Pargrave tells Astra and Lydall that the Chaos Pool is very close, but the elderly scientist is suffering from exhaustion and is on the verge of collapse. Astra thinks it’s odd that Pargrave seems to know the route, even though they’ve never been here before. Lydall gets an electric shock from the satchel and burns his hand badly. At first Astra tells him to leave it behind, but then she and Pargrave hear a woman’s voice inside their heads telling them to bring the satchel to her. Lydall tries to open it first and discovers the satchel is falling apart…
It appears to me that they are using the smallest of details and incorporating them into the Lost story also. I mean not everything is exact as Locke is the MIB but Pargrave isn’t a Guardian. However Lydall is the White Guardian. I just feel that they have taken key parts and placed them in a bag and they get used however they see fit in their story of Lost.

Why are the rules so vague?
I was sitting here just wondering why the rules of this game are so shrouded in mystery. I mean how can one expect to play when one doesn’t know the rules. I then looked over all the sections of the Chaos Pool where the rules between the White and Black Guardian are even mentioned. They are also as vague as the rules seem to be on Lost. Unfortunately the rules were never fully explained in the Key to Time series so I hope that the writers of Lost will hopefully clue us in on them.
Excerpt from the Chaos Pool on the mentioning of the rules:
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf119.htm
He points out that if the White Guardian gets the Key there will no longer be any disorder or free will in the Universe. He isn’t a Guardian of virtue, but a Guardian of control and domination, someone who follows the letter of the law but not the spirit of it. The White Guardian argues that chaos has no boundaries and says people can’t just make up the rules as they go along, but the Doctor says that having absolute certainty about everything is just another form of tyranny. Amy backs up the Doctor and when the Guardian accuses him of putting thoughts into her mind, she points out that he’s a teacher, not a dictator, and she’s able to make her own choices.
The two Guardians continue their card game and the result so far show they’re evenly matched. But the Black Guardian warns his opponent that the rules of the game are about to change…

Are we dealing with infinity?
Excerpt from the Chaos Pool:
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf119.htm
As they flee, the Doctor points out that the planet Chaos is being held in stasis just a few minutes away from the end of the Universe, but the Teuthoidians come from the other end. He realizes they’re right on the fold in time, where the beginning and the end of the Universe are able to co-exist side by side.
Lydall demonstrates his singularity matrix, but the Doctor’s extremely doubtful that Atrion science is capable of creating such a thing. He also points out that the Teuthoidians originate from the beginning of the Universe while the Atrions are much closer to the other end, and as neither race has discovered time travel, they shouldn’t exist at the same time.
Does this excerpt suggest that the island may exist “right on the fold in time?”
I guess a better way of stating this is will we see characters at a period in time in which they shouldn’t exist. Characters that shouldn’t be at a certain place in time yet they are. The infinity symbol to me suggests that we shouldn’t look at time as linear. Take the quote that everybody on the show keeps using “What happened, happened.” Does this simply mean that different characters are just repeating events that have happened only to other characters and the cycle never ends?” Will someone end up breaking the cycle and thus that is how the show will end? Does the line that Jacob utters “It only ends once, whatever happens before that is just progress” suggest the breaking of the infinity loop? Is the loophole that the MIB has devised a part of this breaking of the loop?

If the boys are truly real and not a figment or a projection of someone’s subconscious then the infinity thing works. Time is in a state of flux and the beginning and the end are on the verge of touching. This would symbolize the center of the infinity sign and everything looks to be converging at this point like the Doctor said:

The story seems to be more and more what I think it to be when I think of it in terms of infinity. Everything that has happened and will ever happen eventually makes a turn back to the beginning. I guess another reason for another line that keeps coming up "What's done is done." Is this the real reason why the characters don't seem to be able to escape what they have already done. Which reality will prove to be the one true reality if the infinity loop is broken?

Why is Jack always staring at mirrors Part 2?
What if Jack is experiencing things for the first time and that is why when he looks into mirrors he doesn’t recognize key things. If this is the case who is he really? Jacob?
Remember when Jack was on the plane in the LA X episode in the bathroom. He looks at himself as if he is seeing himself for the first time. Look at it again if you question this.
Excerpt from the Chaos Pool:
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf119.htm
The Doctor concentrates and tries to make contact with Romana, but to no avail. Just then, Amy cheerily returns and lets out a small shriek when she sees Jagrostab…as if she’s seeing him for the first time.
[The shriek that Amy lets out is real because it is really Zara and she is seeing Jagrostab for the first time]
Jack is looking at himself again in the mirror in the Lighthouse episode. He sees the appendix scar and questions it. A little later he and his mom have the following conversation:
Jack: Mom when did I have my appendix taken out?
Jack’s Mom: You were 7 or 8 maybe. You collapsed at school. Your father wanted to do the procedure himself but they wouldn’t let him. You don’t remember that?
Jack: Yeah, I guess I do.
[I would say he doesn’t remember because I don’t think it is Jack.]
Remember what Sayid said in the Candidate episode after he told him where Desmond was and that since Flocke wanted him dead he was going to need him. Sayid: “It’s going to be you, Jack.
I think Jack will play out the Zara part. I will have to start looking for things that are not in Jacks character. For example:
He allows Hurley to be in charge and just sitting back following.
Kate tells him speaking of Sayid “He’s different now.” Jack then responds with “I guess we’re all different now.”
Sawyer to Jack on Flocke’s boat after they took it: “I didn’t think you’d show up Doc.” Jack then responds with “Sorry” after a pause. Sawyer then goes on to say “Taking orders ain’t your strong suit. Nice to see you finally came around.”
These things aren’t in Jacks nature and maybe just maybe there’s a reason behind it.

I almost forgot about when in the FS that Jack was trying to comfort Rose about not being afraid when the plane hit turbulence. His mouth said all the right things but his body betrayed who we knew him to be during the first flight before it crashed on the island.

Possible reason for the bomb going off on the submarine.
I also found a part in the Doctor Who story that is very similar to the bomb and the submarine in Lost. The Jewel in question had an explosive type quality to it. The Guardians and Amy play out the part of Sayid in detonating the bomb.

The Doctor leads the others to the airlock, but they discover the Djinni must have overridden the codes and the password is no longer working. The Guardians start to panic and the Doctor realises they’re now prisoners of these dimensions and will die like everyone else if they don’t get off the ship. The Doctor finds another jewel like the one in the necklace, and tells Guardians to take it down to the far end of the spaceship while he prepares to fire the projectile guns. With any luck, it’ll blow a hole in the hull.
The two Guardians head for the front of the ship and come across another room filled with treasures taken from other worlds. The White Guardian points out that if the Black Guardian had given just part of this to the Caliph instead of the gold, there would have been no trouble. Unfortunately these are the private quarters of the Djinni and the Black Guardian had never been to this part of the ship before. They throw down the tracker and then run for their lives. The Doctor powers up the guns and Amy asks if she can press the button. She does so and the projectile fires straight up into the air, then turns and heads back down towards them. There’s a massive explosion and the ship is filled with smoke and debris. The Guardians pick themselves up of the floor and discover the front of the ship is now exposed to the desert, exactly as the Doctor had intended.

Will there be earthquakes? If so Doctor Who covered them first.
I read the spoiler for next week saying that there will be earthquakes occurring in next weeks episodes. There are several mentions of earthquakes in Part 1 of the Key to Time audio book the Judgement of Isskar. Also note that they are mentioned to have been going on and off for 30 years. 30 years is the number of years our Losties were sent back to the past from where they were when they started. So if the earthquakes do come up then I believe this is yet another connection that Lost has to Doctor Who.
Excerpt fromThe Judgement of Isskar:
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf117.htm
Suddenly the entire area is rocked by an earthquake. The people in the market panic as the buildings collapse around them, and then everything goes black. Once things settle back to normal, the Doctor and Amy start organizing the survivors into parties to dig for people buried under the rubble. Six Martians are dead, but many others are badly wounded and are suffering from cracked shells and blood loss. The Doctor arranges for them to be taken on stretchers to the apothecary. When he meets up with Amy again, he notices she’s not injured at all and isn’t even bruised. They both found that the Martians kept offering them water and the Doctor says they have a gift economy here, so people don’t pay for things, they’re given them free under a strict code of honour that requires the receiver to offer something in return. This isn’t what the Doctor was expecting - these Martians are behaving more like an arts and crafts commune than soldiers. They hunt for food, but they don’t fight each other and they’ve never experienced warfare.
A Martian places them both under arrest and they’re taken to be questioned by Isskar, an elderly Martian magistrate who tells two aliens, a male and female, are operating in the area as thieves and although the Doctor tries to convince him that not all aliens are the same, he understands why they’re under suspicion. Isskar tells him his people will keep a close watch on them from now on. The Doctor thinks the Pyramid might be the cause of the earthquakes, but the magistrate tells them it was built by 19,000 masons, 600 carpenters and 46 overseers and their engineers would not allow for any errors. He admits there have been earthquakes before, but although their rate has been increasing in the last few days, their strength has been decreasing. Isskar demands that they both stay away from the Pyramid and warns them that trespassers will be punished severely. Ignoring Amy’s protests, the Doctor apologizes for wasting so much of Isskar’s time and suggests they both return to the market to look for postcards.
Amy is surprised that Isskar let them go, but the Doctor assures her the Martians are reasonable people. Just then the ground starts to shake again and Amy predicts another earthquake. They head for the entrance to the building site at the base of the Pyramid and break in. Inside, Amy’s nose starts to tickle, but this time it feels different and she thinks it means there’s someone in here with them. They hide as a young humanoid woman enters behind them. Suddenly a Martian grabs the woman and accuses her of being a trespasser. She protests that she’s a tourist, but he drags her away and Amy watches as the woman is reunited outside with a young human man. They claim to be innocently taking photographs, but the Martian refuses to listen. Amy leaps to their defense and demands that they be released, but while the creature is distracted, the man smashes a rock over him and he falls to the ground, dead.
The group is almost at the top of the Pyramid when Amy suddenly cries out and says she can feel the segment as if it were inside her head. The Martian begins shooting as the group ducks for cover. From here they can see the shockwaves rippling through the canals and waterways and it becomes clear that the segment itself is what’s causing the earthquakes. The Doctor realizes there must be something wrong with the segments - that’s why Amy and Zara have been sent to collect them. Zara confirms that they’re decaying and their powers are warping. The Doctor says the segment is imploding and forming a gravity well, perhaps even a black hole. Zinc points out that it could destroy Mars, but the Doctor realizes that’s the least of their worries - if the Key to Time collapses, the whole Universe is finished…
The Martian arrives at the top of the Pyramid and prepares to shoot. The Doctor points out that removing the segment will be like pulling a plug and they’re standing right over the hole. Zara and Amy can feel the intense pressure coming from the segment - but when they reach out to touch it, it’s like their fingers are on fire. Suddenly the earthquakes stop and Zinc wonders if there’ll be a reward. Zara shows them the crystal segment and says it’s keeping the black hole at bay. The Doctor tells her she can’t leave with it until he’s taken it back to the TARDIS and repaired it. Zinc inadvertently reveals that Zara now has two segments and she’s forced to admit that she lied earlier and she’d already found another segment on Erratoon. The Martian demands that she hand the crystal over and when she refuses he opens fire, but the sonic blaster has no effect as the segment is protecting her.
A few managed to get off the world, but the rest fought amongst themselves for food and shelter. After 30 years the energies were spent and the ground settled down. What remained of the Martian people emerged and planned the re-building of their world, even if it took them a thousand years.

Will everything come to a head at the waterfall?
I know not everyone is a believer in my theory but almost every major theme in Lost can be found in Doctor Who. I read the spoiler for next week and if it’s true about the waterfall then let me be the first to tell you that the waterfall in Doctor Who ended up being the waterfall that fed the Chaos Pool. The Chaos Pool is the final story for the Key to Time (audio book) series.
Also note that if you read my blog entitled: “Why is Jack always staring at mirrors?” it can be noted that these two events are tied together in the Chaos Pool story. The individual who was not who they were supposed to be, or in disguise, was in fact the person that made the decision that led to everything (i.e. the Universe) being saved.

http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf119.htm
Pargrave, Astra and Lydall arrive at a set of huge doors. Fortunately, they’re slightly ajar and it’s possible to slip inside. They find hundreds of people standing in an ante-chamber before a woman with a face like a mask. There’s a waterfall with the water pouring straight into a large pool below, but although it gives off a reflection, there‘s no sign of any splashing as the water hits it. The woman looks over to them and calls for President Astra to join them. Lydall is surprised that the people know who they are, but both Astra and Pargrave seem only too pleased to be invited inside. As Pargrave looks down into the Chaos Pool in awe, the woman welcomes them and asks the third member of their party to come out of hiding. He nervously joins the others, but the woman suddenly demands to know who he is. As Pargrave snatches the satchel from him, Lydall pleads with Astra to leave with him, but she too insists that he hands over the segments. The woman tells him there are over a thousand freedom fighters here and says he has no choice, but Lydall challenges them and notes with some surprise that the crowd cowers away from him. He realizes that they’re scared of whatever he’s carrying in the satchel, so using it as a form of protection, he turns and flees from the ante-chamber. Pargrave volunteers to go after him, but the woman tells him their true master is due to arrive here shortly.
Watch to see if the waterfall area plays into Lost this week.

Why is Jack always staring at mirrors?
Excerpt from the Chaos Pool:
The Doctor and the false Amy have lost sight of the dog creature that was leading them through the darkness, but there’s an archway ahead of them so they move through. They enter a cave system and are glad to be out of the rain, but there’s no sign of the animal. The Doctor reveals to his companion that he knows she’s an impostor and he holds up a mirror that shows her appearance has started to change back into that of Zara. He says he realized the truth some time ago, but he didn’t say anything in the hope that she might lead him to the real Amy. Zara reveals that Amy is inside the satchel and the Doctor is furious because he knows that could kill her.
So who is the imposter Jack or Claire? The music box was a gift from Christian to Claire. We know however that Jack has been drawn to his reflections for a long time now. The airplane bathroom: Jack finds himself staring at his reflection in that mirror. His scene where he is trying to remember where he got his appendix scar. He was staring into the mirror. While in the temple he is caught just staring into the water that is the moat around the temple. The reflection that we see is blurry and reminiscent of the Marshall staring at his reflection in the Key to Time: the Armageddon Factor episode. The lighthouse episode where he is surrounded by mirrors and he ends up breaking them.
If I were to guess about what this all means could it be that Jacob found a loophole in the form of Jack. Is the appearance that is hiding itself in the mirror in fact Jacob who took over Jacks persona? Is Jack dead somewhere on the island and we just don’t know it. The same could also be said about Claire when it comes to her being dead. We just saw Aaron abandoned and her missing. I believe one of these two or perhaps both could contain the consciousness of Jacob (His counter to the loophole).
When it comes to who is good and who is bad I would have to say neither and both. I believe that they need each other to balance things out and one without the other would lead to chaos for everything.

Possible reason they used the book “Everything That Rises Must Converge”
Excerpt from the Destroyer of Delights:
The Doctor realises the forces of time are all converging at this point in history, drawing them all here - but unless he finds the segment, the Guardian plans to continue with his plan to wipe out the ruling family of Dunqulah.

The inspiration for Alexandra Rousseau
Alexandra Rousseau or Alex was kidnapped when she was one week old by Benjamin Linus. He raised her as an other and his own daughter.
Excerpt from the Destroyer of Delights:
Nisrin and Amy are busy washing crates full of clothes. Amy is shocked to learn that Nisrin considers herself to be a slave and is even more surprised when Nisrin reveals that she was taken from her parents as a child, sold to the Caliph and given a new name.
They didn’t change Alex’s name but if you can’t see the similarities you will never see them.

Does Doctor Who suggest that Aaron may be the one who saves them all?
Excerpts from The Judgement of Isskar
He suddenly realises he’s not alone and greets a beautiful young woman who appears from nowhere.
[Does this describe the boy who just appears from nowhere?]
The woman seems quite naïve about the dangers she’s likely to face and she admits that she’s only four minutes old. She tells him the Grace didn’t want to involve him as they find him dangerous and unpredictable, but that‘s precisely why she thinks he’ll be useful.
[Since island time isn’t the same could it be that Aaron was just born and like the woman is growing at an astonishing rate?]
As they head for the TARDIS, the Doctor asks if she has a name. She says she doesn’t so he decides to help her choose one. He starts with the letter A and tells her to stop him when she hears one she likes…
Instead of setting co-ordinates, the woman takes control of the TARDIS. The Doctor continues listing names and by the time the ship materialises at its destination, he’s reached ’Amy’. The woman thinks the landscape they’ve arrived at is amazing, but the Doctor mistakes her reaction and thinks she’s settled on that name.
[Will Desmond who I believe is the Doctor character help the boy decide upon a name?]
The man pulls out a gun and holds it at Amy’s head, but to everyone’s surprise the woman laughs when she hears Amy’s name and it becomes clear the two women know each other. The man refers to them as sisters due to their strong resemblance (and the fact that they‘re both carrying identical satchels) and the Doctor realises they must be after the other three segments of the Key to Time.
[I wouldn’t know who the second sister, Zara who the Doctor also helps to name, is of this story. But when we see the boy the second time he looks like the first but somewhat different. I don’t know if they will go in this direction however and have 2 different boys. For right now I will just say he is aging really fast like our character in this story.]
Excerpts from The Chaos Pool:
Suddenly the Grace appear, manifested inside the Key itself. They declare that neither of the Guardians should have the Key and they banish them both back into the howling void so they can resume their eternal struggle.
The Doctor congratulates the Grace on their impressive display of power. They reveal that they made Freedom to be their servant throughout eternity, but she no longer wishes that, so they offer the only freedom left to her. In a flash, she too disappears with a scream. The Doctor is furious, but the Grace ignore him and order the two Tracers to release the Key to Time and surrender it to them. The Doctor points out that Amy and Zara aren’t Tracers any more, but human beings with all the strengths, weaknesses, foibles and marvels that come with that. The Grace laugh and say the women have no choice but to do as they demand.
[It was Zara the other being created and who was the one that saved the day. The one who was able to make the choice without having to be told what was right. It was the Doctor however who was instrumental in getting everyone where they were supposed to be in order for it to work. Is this what Desmond is doing right now, getting everyone to where they are supposed to be?]
I’m not saying that everything matches 100 percent but you don’t have to be a genius to see that these events are similar and when put together with the mounting stack of other similarities that I have found you would have to be pretty gullible to believe that this is still a coincidence.

Is this the reason why people are brought to the island?
Excerpt from the Chaos Pool:
The White Guardian summons Astra and orders her to bring him the Key, but she refuses. The Black Guardian orders the unnamed woman to do the same, but she announces that her name is Freedom and she is free of his control at last. The Doctor realises that because the two Guardians are evenly matched, they both need the help of someone else in order to give them the edge.

Will a similar type of a choice be made at the end?
I had never read the continuation of the Key to Time but apparently the writers have. I was searching the internet and came across 3 audio books that had been put to paper: The Judgement of Isskar, The Destroyer of Delights & The Chaos Pool. From these stories I gleaned more insight into the writers of Lost. Apparently they took elements of these stories along with the Key to Time and the Face of Evil took key plot lines shook them up and came up with Lost.

While their respective troops ransack the castle, the two Guardians are casually engaged in a game of bridge with their partners, Astra and the unnamed woman. The game is a perfect example of the differences between the two and they both taunt each other, claiming their approach is the better.
