Why each member of the Oceanic 6 had 2 microphones in front of them

It is because in Doctor Who: The Key to Time: The Stones of Blood if you listen to the Directors commentary you can hear the actress who played Romana say the following when the hyperspace ship is shown:

1. Isn’t that a couple of microphones on the end (laughing)

When they show the ship again she says:

2. There goes those 2 mic’s again

Like I keep telling you guys the writers and producers of Lost wasted nothing. When the Oceanic 6 are rescued and they are giving a press conference you see the following:

Each of the 5 had his/her own double microphone as a tribute to the director's commentary!  Why not just come clean because you guys know you just did a REMAKE of Doctor Who: The Face of Evil and The Key to Time 1 & 2!!!
