Why did Lost use "Electromagnetism?

When the Doctor tried to materialize the TARDIS on Calufrax it just so happened that the Captain was also trying to materialize around the planet at the same time.  This caused both the TARDIS and Zanak “The Pirate Planet” to experience damage.

This is the answer to the question right here.  Lost just used bits and pieces of Doctor Who: The Face Of Evil and The Key To Time to create their story.

This is the reason why electromagnetism disrupts so many things on Lost.  "... the whole infrastructure of quantum physics was in retreat."

Since this was a key theme to Doctor Who it was incorporated into Lost.  Lost used it as the reason why DHARMA was studying the island, why Oceanic Flight 815 crashed, compasses didn’t work properly, communications issues, why the island was invisible to the outside world and the list goes on and on.  I won’t break them all down but you can simply click the Lostpedia website on Electromagnetism to see for yourself.  I would truly love to sit down with the writers and producers of Lost to discuss the things that I missed along my journey to discover the truth.
