In The Key to Time: The Power of Kroll after the Doctor and his group are captured by the believers of Kroll (i.e. the Swampies) and told that they are going to be killed by their 7th holy ritual of having their spines snapped on a rack.
One of the natives tells Romana that he would have rather had them killed by their first holy ritual of throwing them into a pit and have rocks thrown at them! Did this play out in Lost in any way shape or form just like all the other little things that were used in the show? You know it did! Remember the part in Lost when Claire was thrown into a pit by Dogen’s people right before Smokey entered the temple? There were a number of small stones in the pit as a tribute to that little “insignificant utterance” in Doctor Who. The writers in Lost wasted nothing. They incorporated huge amount of of dialog in Doctor Who: the Face of Evil and the Key to Time 1 & 2 and shook it up and created Lost.
