Lucidity

Any of you ever had a dream in which you woke up only to find yourself in another dream and not knowing it? You start remembering bits and pieces and then you have clarity. The problem is you are still just dreaming. Why do you recall the events that you dream as a dream but not the moment you are experiencing for what it is?

Now have any of you been dreaming and then woke up from the dream to find yourself truly awake? Not awake in the fact that you are truly awake but aware that you were dreaming but then realize that you still are dreaming and have full knowledge that all the events that are taking place aren't real. I refer to lucid dreaming. I have and let me tell you that the experiences can be quite exhilarating. The world of a lucid dream with practice is indescribable in words for the most part. Colors are more vibrant and your senses are off the charts.

To me Desmond seems to be lucid in the fact that he knows what's going on around him and knows what it is that he must do. We will just have to see how it plays out. Only the writers know for now as it is there story and to say that the puzzle can be solved by brainstorming is madness. It would be like if any of us came up with this idea, it would simply go the way of our thinking and not be based upon group consensus. Here’s to everyone having fun in the process though.
