Lost ended where Doctor Who: The Key To Time began

We find Jack in the church in the room with his fathers coffin and we pick up the conversation here:

Christian: How are you here?

Jack: I died too.

Christian: It’s OK. It’s OK. It’s OK son

Jack: [They embrace] I love you dad.

Christian: I love you too son.

Jack: Are you real?

Christian: I sure hope so. Yeah. I’m real, you’re real. Everything that’s ever happened to you is real. All those people in the church, they’re all real too.

Jack: They’re all… They’re all dead?

Christian: Everyone dies sometime kiddo. Some of them before you, some long after you.

Jack: But why are they all here now?

Christian: Well there is no “NOW” here.

Jack: Where are we dad?

Christian: This is the place that you all made together so that you could find one another. The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these people. That’s why all of you are here. Nobody does it alone Jack. You needed all of them and they needed you.

Jack: For what?

Christian: To remember. And to… let go.

Jack: Kate she said we were leaving.

Christian: Not leaving. No… moving on.

Jack: Where are we going?

Christian: Let’s go find out.

[Jack followed by Christian enter into the church where everyone is hugging and embracing]

Locke: We’ve been waitin’ for ya.

[They all sit down and Christian walks up to the double doors of the church and opens them and a blinding light fills the church]

[The scene switches to Jack looking at the plane with his friends leave the island. He closes his eyes]

[The scene fades to black]




The Doctor is talking to K-9 in the TARDIS about going on vacation when everything goes black.

[Organ music starts playing – it sounds like church music]

[The Double doors of the TARDIS open and a blinding light rushes in]

Male Voice: Doctor!

Doctor: Yes.

Male Voice: Your presence is required.

Doctor: Listen. I don’t wish to appear rude, but… Who are you?

Male Voice: Do you really need to ask, Doctor?

Doctor: Well only a Guardian… Oh I see. Well in that case, sir.

Male Voice: You will come to no harm.

Doctor: Just as you say.

[The Doctor steps into the light and receives the information from the White Guardian that he needs to begin the quest for the Key to Time]

To me our Losties are now off on the greatest adventure possible. And every time the Doctor enters a new world he encounters a great adventure. Lost took a lot of imagery and character development from the Key to Time but the story was truly theirs and for that I thank them for an adventure that I will never forget! THANK YOU!!!
