Two boys mentioned in the Judgement of Isskar

11 May 10 6:10 pm MST

In the Judgement of Isskar there are two unnamed boys mentioned in the story. They are the sons of Lady Mesca and her rival Wembik. We find out later that Wembik has poisoned Lady Mesca with snake venom and she is dying. They are going to war with each other over an entirely meaningless role and Wembik doesn’t even care if her son never becomes King – so long as Mesca’s son doesn’t either. The whole thing is meaningless because everything is plentiful in the village and they don’t really need a King any more. Their laws state that a King can only rule from the age of 23 and until then a provisional government keeps the peace. As the people don’t want to be ruled, they elect a child who agrees to stand down at the age of 22 in return for a generous pension. But Wembik yearns for power and the chance for her son to be King and the temptation is too strong to resist.

I don’t know if this will have anything to do with the story of Lost but I am putting it out there anyway.
